What's a wiki?

Wiki is a collection of web pages, designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute or modify content, using a simplified markup language. Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites and to power community websites. For example, the collaborative encyclopedia Wikipedia is one of the best known wikis. Wikis are used in business to provide affordable and effective intranets and for Knowledge Management. Our wiki is hosted by pbwiki, and I just love their tag line: easy as a peanut butter sandwich. They have lots of wiki resources and tutorials on their web site, including free webinars where you see a wiki in action and ask questions.

Will the wiki eventually take place of the forum (www.time2stamp.com) or it is in addition to the forum?

The wiki is in addition to the forum. The wiki is a respository of information. You can think of it like a database. It will replace some of the pages of the old web site (retailer listing, wholesale information, design team page), because it's much easier to edit than a web site. But the forum will remain a place to have a conversation. Think about the forum as a coffee house (or a bar, if you're a drinker) - a place to be social.

How much are we allowed to edit and just what are we allowed to edit?

Everything. Anything. Because the wiki saves versions of everything, it's easy to undo something that shouldn't have been done. But generally, you can add content throughout the wiki. I've already created a place to keep recipes, a history of the design team, and a respository of information about fashion week. If you can loosely tie it to something in the wiki, to the stamp line, to the designers, then you can put it in the wiki. And if you see a typo, just go right ahead and fix it. I started to create a birdiquette guide. You can edit that too.
