Find a box of appropriate size to fit your memorabilia (e.g. notes or letters)
Top of Box
Paint sides of top and interior in colour of your choice.
Cut pp to cover top, give shabby chic look by sanding and inking edges with mini ink pad (pinecone was the colour I used). Glue to lid of box.
Cut chipboard heart at size that suits lid size. Cover with a 2nd contrasting pp, sand edges and ink with brown tombow pen to colour sides.
Use mini letter stickers (with edges inked with brown tombow pen) to spell “love” in center of heart. Surround word “love” with clear mini bling in a heart shape.
Making wings – I used rub ons – but you could use a stamped image or download an image from word art. I mounted the white rub ons onto dark brown cardstock and trimmed to fit.
Envelope – use template or diecut one in a 3rd contrasting double sided pp to suit lid size. Sand envelope and ink edges with “pinecone” and attach to lid as shown.
Glue heart to lid with wings slightly underneath and pointed upwards, using a small amount to 3D mount to raise wings up at end. Have right wing slightly overlapping envelope.
Apply wording to envelope with mixture of stickers & rub ons – mix up fonts used to create interest.
Box Base & inside of Lid
Cut 4th contrasting pp to fit inside base and inside lid of box, sand and ink as above.
Sides
Use pp used for heart and trim to fit the sides and cut a scalloped edge. I find the Fiskars ultrashape cutter the easiest and quickest way to do this. However you can trace and hand cut if necessary. Glue to sides of lid and then overlap top with contrasting ribbon.
Finishing touches
Cut multiple envelopes using all 4 pp’s used and put your precious love notes & letters inside these and pop them in your box. When you receive a love letter try to remember to pencil a date on the back.
