Dear Johanna,

Here we are at newsletter number 2 and boy have we got lots of news to share with you! We'll keep sharing the big news via this email newsletter.

If you visit the justjohanna web site, you may have noticed that the "news" button now links straight through to my blog - a smattering of design team accomplishments, justjohanna news, and personal stories.

Lovely New Images!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Around 75 new images were added to our product line last month. We were feeling all lovey-dovey and added some lovebirds and other lovely images and sentiments. And who can stop at 75? So there are about another 75 new images that were added this month.
All of the new images have already been loaded into the shopping cart, which you can access by clicking the "shop" link on our web site. (www.justjohanna .com) Then just click on that cute little owl next to the word "new!" and you'll see all of the new images. You can also download a PDF of the February supplement with the first batch of new images. Just click here. When I have the rest of the images in catalog form, I'll post a link on my blog.
Lovely new images...
Designer Spotlight
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Each month, we'll be giving you the inside scoop from one of our design team members. This month's member spotlight is on... Claudette Slowik.

Despite the unfortunate omission of Claudette's name from the design team announcement (completely my fault), she is a very important (and frequently published) member of our team!

Claudette joined the justjohanna design team right at the beginning, as we were launching the product line. We asked her just a handful of questions so you all could get to know her a little bit more...

1.Tell us a little about yourself (your family where you're from)

My name is Claudette Slowik (aka Acelady); I’m a wife and mother of 4 grown children and a grandmother of 4 and one on the way. We reside in Illinois. However, we plan on selling our homes and moving back to Arizona within the next year hopefully.

If I’m not stamping, I’m babysitting my grandchildren and, when weather permits, I’m on the back of my husband's Harley. Being we are both retired, I have lots of time to play with my hobby.

2. How did you get started stamping?

I started stamping when I met a group of ladies on the internet who where talking about their love of stamping and as I asked them questions in the chat room they decided to send me some materials and said “see what you can do with them.” Before you know it we were exchanging cards and they where teaching me about the various aspects of stamping. Well after a bit they invited me to meet them and attend a Convention in South Carolina on Rubber Stamping. I debated and finally said yes. Needless to say my family said, “You’re NUTS! What if they are mass murders?” I devised a plan that if I got off the plane and they appeared strange in any way I would just keep walking. Needless to say 6 years later I am still stamping and we are all friends.

3. What is your favorite justjohanna stamp?

This is probably the hardest question to answer for I love versatile stamps that I can use over and over again and so far I've had no problems with any of them, and as my collection of stamps have grown so have the ones I favor. In the beginning I loved working with Flora Hugabundous stamp, then the candy cane tree, and lately I sure have had fun with the party girl deer.

4. What inspires you?

A stamp inspires me the most, for once I pick it up everything seems to unfold in my mind for a project. I then start building from there the papers, inks and embellishments I want to use for the project.

Claudette Slowik

Monthly Card Sketch

We'll be sending you updates monthly (for the most part) to let you know about all the new & exciting things happening with our product line. And every month, the newsletter will include a card sketch and some sample cards to jump start your creativity.

Design Team member Kim Frantz actually posts weekly card sketches on her blog - a great place to go if you're looking for inspiration.
